Pears, Pears, the PLENTIFUL Fruit...

A friend has a pear tree that is producing to such an extreme that the tree may very well split from the weight. I was asked to "please" take as many as I would like. So, I am thinking 'pear honey', 'pear jelly', or really, anything else that would preserve a fair amount of fruit. I've never really worked with pears that way, so please, send me some tried and true recipes!
